Windows Installation Guide

In this tutorial you will learn about:

Overview

MCalibration and PolyUMod for Windows are provided in two msi installer files. You can download these files from: https://PolymerFEM.com/software-download. Please contact us if you need the download password. To use the software you need one of the following: (1) an activation key, (2) a license file, (3) the name of an existing license server.

MCalibration Installation

The first step is to download and run the MCalibration installer. The installer welcome screen is shown below. Click Next.

Then read the end-user license agreement. Click Cancel if you do not agree with the license agreement.

The next screen specifies what type of license you have. This the most important part of the MCalibration installation. Most MCalibration licenses are node locked and provided with an activation key. In that case select I have an activation key.

Then specify your activation key and click Next.

Click finish to go to the final page of the installer. Click Finish and you are done!

PolyUMod Installation

The first step is to download and run the PolyUMod installer. The installer welcome screen is shown below. Click Next.

Then read the end-user license agreement. Click Cancel if you do not agree with the license agreement.

The next screen specifies what type of license you have. This the most important part of the PolyUMod installation. PolyUMod licenses are always using floating network licenses, and are typically provided with an activation key. In that case select I have an activation key.

Then specify your activation key and click Next.

Click through each page for the different FE installers. Click finish to go to the final page of the installer. Click Finish and you are done!

Environment Variables

MCalibration and PolyUMod use the following environmental variables. Note that they are all automatically set by the PolymerFEM installers.

  • RLM_LICENSE.  It is automatically set by the installer to the location where the license can be found. For a node-locked license it contains the full path to the license file. For floating license it contains the port and host name for of the license server. For example, 5053@localhost.
  • ANS_USERPATH contains the name of the directory where the PolyUMod for ANSYS files are located. Typically: C:\Program Files\PolymerFEM\PolyUMod\PolyUMod_ANSYS.
  • RAD_USERLIB_LIBPATH contains the name of the directory where the PolyUMod for Altair Radioss files are located. Typically: C:\Program Files\PolymerFEM\PolyUMod\PolyUMod_Radioss.

Removing the License Server

If you ever need to remove the PolyUMod license server service on a Windows computer, then open an Admin cmd-window and type the commands:

					sc stop RLM_PolyUMod
sc delete RLM_PolyUMod
