Set Up Altair Radioss™ to use PolyUMod

Setup Altair Radioss to use PolyUMod

It is easy to set up Altair Radioss to use the PolyUMod© library. Just use the following 5 steps.

1. Install PolyUMod

Follow these instructions to install PolyUMod on a Windows or Linux computer.

2. Set the environment variable "RAD_USERLIB_LIBPATH"

On Windows computers the environment variable “RAD_USERLIB_LIBPATH” should be set to the following:

  • C:\Program Files\PolymerFEM\PolyUMod\PolyUMod_Radioss

Check on your computer which of these directories that you have, and then set the environment variable to that path.

On Linux computers set the environment variable “RAD_USERLIB_LIBPATH” to the following:

  • /opt/PolymerFEM/PolyUMod_Altair/PolyUMod_Radioss

Check on your computer which of these directories that you have, and set the environment variable to that path.

You may also have to set the environment variable ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH to the value 6200@server, where server is the  host name of your Altair license server.

3. Use MCalibration to calibrate and then export a material model to Radioss format

You can learn more about MCalibration here, and take our free training course here.

4. Setup the FE Model using Altair HyperMesh™

Setup /PROP/SOLID to use full integration point elements Isolid=17
Setup /PROP/SOLID to use large strain Lagrangian strains: Ismstr=10
Specify the PolyUMod material model using /MAT/USER01

5. Run your Radioss FE simulation!

That’s it!
