Test File Format
MCalibration can import text files (including .csv files), but cannot import native Excel files (.xlsx, .xls).
All files should start from time, stress, and strain of zero unless otherwise noted.
MCalibration can also import test data in Abaqus input file format with the
Import Material Model button:

Experimental Data Load Case Format
MCalibration expects three data columns:
Time, strain, and stress
Strain and stress can be either engineering or true
MCalibration will skip header lines of text
Other Data Columns with Experimental Data
MCalibration can use transverse strain and sample temperature measurements in addition to the uniaxial data
This data is loaded in the same way you load other experimental data
Dynamic Data Load Case Format
The Dynamic Data load case is used for Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) data.
The load case requires a data file with the following columns: mean strain, strain amplitude, frequency, temperature, storage modulus, and loss modulus.
The storage and loss modulus should be the Young’s modulus (E’, E”) when the loading mode is

Creep and Stress Relaxation Data
Data for a
Creep Data load case should contain time and strain data only. The first time point should be zero, and the first strain point should be non-zero.
Data for a
Relaxation Data load case should contain time and stress data only. The first time point should be zero, and the first stress point should be non-zero.
The rate of loading and creep or relaxation level are determined by the parameters you specify in the load case (image at right).
Ball Drop Data
Ball Drop load case requires only the time and force.
This load case uses Abaqus/Explicit as the default solver.
MCalibration automatically calculates the ball position from the provided experimental data.
Compression with Friction
Compression with Friction load case is used to perform inverse calibrations using Abaqus Standard or Explicit.
The input data should be time, strain, and stress.
Tension Test Data
Tension Test load case is used to perform inverse calibrations using Abaqus.
The input data should be time, crosshead displacement, and force.
