  • Abaqus Error: system error code 144.

    Hi,

    I am getting this error message, I will appreciate if you can reply to this.

    Thanks in advance

    Abaqus Error: The executable C:\ABAQUS\6.8-1\exec\standard.exe
    aborted with system error code 144.
    Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files
    exist. If there are no error messages and you cannot resolve the problem,
    please run the command "abaqus job=support information=support" to report and
    save your system information. Use the same command to run Abaqus that you
    used when the problem occurred. Please contact your local Abaqus support
    office and send them the input file, the file support.log which you just
    created, the executable name, and the error code.
    Abaqus/Analysis exited with errors

    The cause for error 144, 142 and 145 has been discussed at length in
    the forum
    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ABAQUS_USERS/

    Search the forum for postings with the string "error 144" resp. "error code 144", and likewise with the other error numbers.

    The fuss is not yet resolved. Lately, I could get around this problem using
    STATIC, STABILIZE

      Can you explain more about your simulation and what might have created that problem.

        hi, there
        i don't know what's your model. i frequently came across the 144 error when i used user subroutine (UEL). I get used to it now instead of frustration at the beginning.
        144error (at least in my computation cases) usually occurs when a small number (say, 0) was used as dividor; a negative value is "square-rooted"; and etc...
        interestingly, ABAQUS will instantly terminate when these situations appear.

        an illustrating example:

        subroutine UEL()
        real :: aa, rr
        aa = 0.0
        rr = 1.0/aa
        ...
        end subroutine UEL

        ABAQUS (at least the version i used) will stop with the 144error at "rr=1.0/aa". so, it's better to use the following one:

        subroutine UEL()
        real :: aa, rr
        aa = 0.0
        if (abs(aa)>1e-6 ) then !1e-6 means a small value
        rr = 1.0/aa
        end if
        ...
        end subroutine UEL
