  • Distortion of Hyperelastic material in ABAQUS using static general

    Hi everybody, I am studying about hyperelastic material in ABAQUS using the static general. The element type is C3D8RH with enhanced hourglass control and material medel is Ogden 3rd order and Mooney-Rivlin. But, when I submit the job, increment size is getting smaller than specified minimum increment size and aborted with error. In the MSG file, following statement is describe -

    ***WARNING: THE SYSTEM MATRIX HAS 4507 NEGATIVE EIGENVALUES.
    EXPLANATIONS ARE SUGGESTED AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF THIS MESSAGE.
    ELEMENT 1.582999 IS DISTORTING EXCESSIVELY.

    .
    .
    ***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED UNLIKELY.


    ***ERROR: TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT

    I believe that the problem is excessibely element distortion.

    So, my question is how can I prevent excessibely element distortion in static general.
    Is it possible to apply ALE or adaptive remeshing? I heard that adaptive remeshing is not recommended for hyperelastic material

    Please give me any advice for this matter.
    Regarding above, if there is anything that you want to know more specific, just tell me.
