Viscoelasticity Constants in Ansys
For Linear Viscoelasticity, ANSYS Workbench needs 2 Constant. instantenous shear Modulus and Viscoelastic Decay. the documentation from ANSYS didnt help much, or rather, i dont really understand it much. could someone explain to me how to obtain these two?
You can get the required values from a simple stress relaxation experiment.
(We do those experiments if you need help).

I applied Prony Series and did a transient structural analysis in ANSYS but I didnt find any phase lag between stress and strain which should come because of the energy dissipated by viscoelastic material. Does it mean that Prony series alone doesnot capture the energy dissipation and we have to input a complex youngs modulus in ANSYS. Help !!!
Can you explain what these 2 constants stands for and how can I get the values from experiment?
