Hallo guys,

I am working for my thesis with a 3d printed model of a human radius bone (metrial abs).

In particular I have to perform a 4 point bending test and I decided to do some calculations (flexural resistance of a beam) before the experimental test to have an idea on how much force was needed to break the sample.

After performing the tests I noticed that the experimental force applied to brige to breakage the sample was more than double the one calculated.

I surely approximated the analytical solution but I really do not undersant why I have this big difference.

Does anyone of you know if it could be material related? Can you help me?

Thanks to everyone

Federico
