DIP COLORING ABS AND HDPE WITH MEK

I want your kind help in the following matter and if you can please support me in this regard.

I want to color ABS or HDPE plastic parts with the help of MEK but unable to do so.

I am using MEK with plastic colors to dip the part in it but unable to achieve the fine coating

MEK is thick and I used acetone to make it thinner but still no result.

please guide me which color to mix in MEK

and which is best solvent to thinner the MEK like liquid
