Seeking help regarding constant triaxiality RVE analysis

Dear all,

I am trying to do constant triaxiality RVE analysis using ABAQUS. I am following [url] http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0749641911000052 [/url] . Before going for full analysis, I tried 2D single element test with user defined MPC. I made use of spring element, equation constraints and user defined MPC as explained in the paper.

But it seems that MPC is not working. After applying the displacement in one direction, I am getting deformation in other direction similar to the condition as if there are no constraints.

I think I am missing somewhere in the modelling part.

I have attached a slide explaining the problem. Single element ABAQUS input file and user defined MPC is also attached.

It will be great if someone can help me.

Without really reviewing your files in detail, I think that the most accurate way to impose triaxiality (or other constraints) in Abaqus is to use *EQUATION.

Thanks for replying. I am making use of *Equation as well as MPC constrains, as the refereed paper suggests.
