Hi all

My model contains 3 parts and 6 step:

part 1 is placed on part 2 and both effect together, I want part 3 in final step apply load to part 1, so I defined load and contact between part 1 & 3 for step 6 only, but when I run my job, I see weight of part 3 is effecting to part 1 & 2, while I want Abaqus dont diagnose part 3 before step 6. How can I remove effect of weight force of part 3 in steps 1-5?

Hi mohandas

Please try the element death and alive option in Abaqus. I have idea on how to do same thing in Ansys but i donot have much profiecieny in Abaqus. What you need to do is you have to kill the part 3 elemnts and associated contacts in initial steps and make them alive in your final step.

In ansys the corresponding commands are EKILL and EALIVE.

Thanks

Manish
