Hi, Im a ALGOR user and want to try some comparisons between that solver and ABAQUS 6.8:confused:.

Now Im trying to run a example file that comes in the Documentation but I dont now the code for this program. I only made two of the basic tutorials and I need to know how to open the example files.

Im talking about the 1.3.2 Superplastic forming of a rectangular box example.

Listed are 5 input files:

superplasticbox_constpress.inp Constant pressure main analysis.

superplasticbox_autopress.inp Automatic pressurization main analysis.

superplasticbox_autopress_surf.inp Automatic pressurization main analysis using the surface-to-surface contact formulation.

superplasticbox_node.inp Node definitions for the rigid elements.

superplasticbox_element.inp Element definitions for the rigid R3D3 elements.

I found that example very interesant but Im still not able to open it. For that reason Im asking for your help.

Thanks in advance.

Pedro.

If I rember right, you can get the example files using the following command:
abaqus fetch

Check the Users Manual for more info.

Thanks

thank you for your help, Jorgen.

i made that order Fetch but i still cant make it run. I can see the model on the program (import the *.inp file). then i created a Job but after 3 seconds of iteration everything stops whit errors and i dont know why.

all those Example Files are ready to run and see? or have to do something extra?

thanks for attending my cuestion, because im really new whit Abaqus.

Pedro

i missed something

at the moment i import the inp file appears the following message at the Message Area:

WARNING: Node-based surfaces are not yet supported in Abaqus/CAE. The following node sets have been created in place of the corresponding node-based surfaces so they can be used in Abaqus/CAE.

The interaction DIE_NODE-1 has been created.

The model superplasticbox_autopress has been imported from an input file.

Please scroll up to check for error and warning messages.

The set EDGE1 has been edited (23 nodes)

is that the reason why the iteration doesnt works?

I dont know exactly what you tried, but you will likely have to run the example file using a command line interface, e.g.:

abaqus interactive job=[name of inp-file]

i tried with two of the cases and no response.

i was reading this weekend a lot from the dokumentation and made some examples. im still far from a good level whit this software. For that reason i wanted to perform that example file and become new ideas.

thanks Jorgen for your attention, i appreciate it a lot.

One quick comment:

Make sure you that the inp-files are located in the same directory as your Cmd-window directory. In your example above the Cmd-window is in the directory D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.
