Post Reeling Analysis with PIPE element

Anyone has experience in importing the stress/ strain (components) results at integration points from a reeling (or bending) analysis using beam element such as PIPE32, and use it as the initial state of subsequent analyses?

From the ABAQUS manual, I can see potentially USDFLD user-subroutine can do it, anyone can confirm this or suggest alternative?

I have not tried it, but it sounds like a reasonable approach.
