Periodic BC in LS-DYNA

Hi all,

im trying to model a representative volume element with periodic boundary conditions and displacment controlled loading in LS-DYNA.

I tried to couple opposite nodes and a dummy node with **CONSTRAINED_LINEAR_GLOBAL

Example:

*CONSTRAINED_LINEAR_GLOBAL

$# id

1

1 1 1

13 1 -1

101 1 -1

1. The loading of node 101 with *BOUNDARY_PRESCRIBED_MOTION_NODE does not work. Are their any solutions to solve this problem.

2. Even if I load nodes at a surface without periodic bcs the conditions do not work at the other surface. The displacement of opposite nodes in x and y direction is not equal.

Hopefully somebody can help me with these problems.

I have not tried that in LS-DYNA, but your constrained_linear_global attempt sounds great. What problems do you see with this approach?
