Hi All,

Im new to simulating polymers. Please help me out.

I have 80% glass , 20% nylon structure undergoing a static loading for 24 hours at room temperature.

I need to measure the deflection after 24 hours.

is it a creep problem? How do i perform the analysis. What material properties i need to ask the client?

Looking forward to your inputs.

Thanking you

James

Yes, that is a creep problem. First, can you perform the experiment instead of a FE simulation?
If not, then you need to perform at least one stress relaxation or creep experiment in order to calibrate a suitable material model. After that you can simulate the component response...
