Dynamic compression simulation using Dynamic Disp Temp explicit

Hi

I am using built in Johnson Cook model to simulate dynamic compression test in ABAQUS V11. The material I am using fails due to formation of adeabatic shear band. So I used CPE4RT as element and Dynamic Disp Temp explicit in step. Anyway, I defined everything necessary to run the model, for thermal property part I included conductivity, specific heat,initial temperature and inelastic heat fraction. It seems like model is working fine but I am really confused because it is saying *inelastic heat fraction and *specific heat are only used in an adiabatic analysis and a coupled temperature-displacement analysis. So specific heat and inelastic heat fraction can not be used in dynamic disp temp explicit analysis? Did anyone work with this before? I looked into couple example problem posted in abaqus manual, they did use all those properties.

Any help will be highly aprreciated.

I am recovering from a cold, so I may be a bit slow today, but what do you mean by dynamic disp temp explicit?

Thank you for your reply.

This is a type of step from STEP module in ABAQUS 6.11. My understanding is that if I use element type CPE4RT, I have to use dynamic displacement temperature explicit step if I would like to see temperature output from a dynamic test.
