Hey guys,

I am currently working on a property study on FE model of spine, which includes a fluid property for nucleus (its a fluid inner part filled in the outter annulus of intervertebral disc). I tried to use porous elastic property put I keep getting a error msg says I need to assign some kind of initial void ratio.

Could someone tell me how to deal with this? Or better, could someone give me some advise on how to deal with a fluid property part in ABAQUS?

Thank you all.

Abaqus can handle fluid filled cavities pretty well. I suggest that you read Section 11.6.2 Defining fluid cavities in the Abaqus Analysis Users Manual.

Thanks for your suggestion, however, I am currently use a ABAQUS 6.4-1 version, and I am not sure what version of ABAQUS help document are you talking about?
