Hello Dear Friends,

I want to ask a question. I am running a uniaxial tensile analysis with abaqus and marc. But results are different. Why do they have these differences?

Could you please answer me?

Best Regards

The results should be the same or at least very similar. If they are not then you are likely doing something wrong 🙁

User material subroutine in Marc (HYPELA2)

Hi guys. I hope you all are doing great. I have prepared a user material subroutine for Shape Memory Alloys in MARC. The routine is compiled and solution is submitted but it returns zero values. The same code is re-written for UMAT in ABAQUS and it works. The model include 24 state variables which are passed to subroutine and calculated, then return to MARC. In ABAQUS it is very easy to define the number of state variables by the command *DEPVAR. It allows the program to keep the appropriate memory to restore the state variables. But in Msc MARC its quite difficult to do as same as in ABAQUS, to input the number of state variables before running the solution.

any help I would extremely appreciate 😎

I have converted Abaqus UMATs to Marc subroutines.
I use the

MD_HYPELA2
version.
