Dear all,

Im simulating an elastomer, using BB model, under cyclic loading. I m assuming pure shear (&#955,2=1) and always &#955,1>1 (never compressed in the length direction).

Is there any physical meaning in getting negative stresses in network B in length direction (stress,B,1) or its just a computational error?

Thank you all

The BB-model is very cool model 😎

How are you solving the equations? Are you using a FE program or some other way.

The stress in the B-network can be negative during unloading from a tensile strain. That is part of the model and is OK.

Dear Mr Bergstrom

Thank you very much for your great help.
Im solving the equations in Matlab, without finite elements.
