Result of Rubber Tests
Hello Dear Friends,
I want to ask a question about results of rubber tests. I have some results for uniaxial tension test. And .txt file includes displacement, force, time and ext.1 values. Firstly,
- I can calculate engineering stress because I have initial conditions. But how can I calculate true stress and strain values? Can you help me about this issue?
- In test results, what is mean that ext.1.
Thank you so much for your answers
Best regards.
To calculate the true stress you need to know the transverse strain so that you can determine the current cross-sectional area.
Im not sure what ext.1 means.

Thank you Dear Jorgen for your answer.
I learned ext.1, it means that extension of signed distance for Digital Image Correlation. ( For uniaxial tension)
And I found actual cross-sectional using by stretch ratio (Lfinal/Lorginal).
Best Regards
