what type of model is the ABAQUS viscoelastic model? Generalized Maxwell model?

I am so sorry to bother you with this kind of question but I cannot answer this question on my own...Thanks

Yes, the standard Abaqus viscoelasticity model is a linear viscoelasticity model that is specified by a Prony series. That model is therefore the same as a generalized maxwell model.

Note that Abaqus also have built-in non-linear viscoelastic models.

Dear Dr Jorgen,

Can you please explain which built-in nonlinear viscoelastic models are available in Abaqus?

Regards

I was thinking about the *HYSTERESIS model, which is a model that I developed a few years ago and that I call the Bergstrom-Boyce model.
