Hi,

I am using ABAQUS to simulate the heat processing of viscoelastic material under a periodic loading. I saw it on the forum that it is proper to model it with a BERGSTROM-BOYCE MODEL. But I am new to constitutive model, and I want to use VUMAT to build the model. Is there any reference I can refer to?

Thanks!

Bergstrom

Hello

I can refer to sources for the Bergstrom model:

1) https://polymerfem.com/polymer_files/UMAT_subroutines.html

2) https://polymerfem.com/polymer_files/vumat_nh/

3) Regrettably Simulia has switched off an extremely useful resource that was known as custhelp. The following could be found there:

-------------------------------------------

Answer ID 4800

Abaqus/Explicit VUMAT for Bergstrom-Boyce polymer hysteresis model

(The following applies to Abaqus 6.10 and higher)

Attached below is an Abaqus/Explicit VUMAT for the simulation of hysteretic behavior in polymeric materials. Documentation and an example input file are also attached.

Note that this user subroutine is offered freely, and is not part of the regular licensed Abaqus software suite.

File Attachments

PDF document Abaqus Explicit VUMAT for Hysteresis.pdf

HTML document vumat-hysteresis.for

HTML document hysteresis.inp

-------------------------------------------

These files are uploaded here. The inp and for are declared to be pdf as the site didnt like to upload inp and for files.

For subroutine beginners: Get the file

Good luck

Hi Frank,

I searched around on the new Simulia web site for the files that you provided. It appears that they have been removed from the official Simulia site 🙁

Since the files are Copyright by Simulia, and it is not clear to me that they can be shared, I cannot post them on this site.

I hope you understand...

Ziwei: feel free to contact Frank directly for more info.

Can you send me the files about the VUMAT?

My email address is zengziw@umich.edu

Thanks!

Frank,

I am very much interested in those resources for BB model. It will boost my already picking momentum in learning polymer mechanics.

If you don't mind, kindly send me via my email: melliesons@gmail.com
