Hello everyone,

Im getting the following error when Im using the Bergstom Boyce material model:

stress calculation for the Bergstom Boyce material model din not converge for element x with material y. This error is right at the beginning of my analysis. Ive tried introducing the model in many analysis but I always get this type of error. In a simple analysis, by using only one simple cylindrical body, the analysis went fine when Ive used this material model. What can I do to eliminate this error? Whats causing it? Thank you very much!

Regards

That sounds odd. Can you provide your file?

Bergstom Boyce model stress convergence error

Hi trandafir_marius84,

I have the same error, however the model converges after some bisections of the time increment. I guess its just a normal message during iteration if the element residual is above the requested residual.

Do you agree or what is your experience?

When performing easy one element test with the BB model (uniaxial compression/tension, biaxaial tension, shear), no error does occur.

Best regards

Hello 2015pur,

First of all sorry for the late response!

I downgraded to another Ansys package and I cannot use anymore the BB model.

As I recall I solved the issue by modelling the rubber alone, without the metal parts but Im not sure.

Good luck!
