Selecting an appropriate material model can seem difficult since there are so many different material models to choose from.

The most appropriate material model for a given material depends on the scope of the project and how accurate the FE simulations need to be. A more accurate material model typically requires more experimental data for calibration and more computational time when running the FE analysis. A more advanced material model, however, can provide significantly more accurate results than a simple hyperelastic or metal plasticity model. Material model selection is discussed in detail in my training classes.
