    Dimensions and Units for FEA

Finite element programs do not consider the units of given quantities , it is the user's responsibility to ensure that the given numbers have consistent units. There are numerous different sets of units that can be used when performing FE simulations. This document summarizes some of the different options that are available.

Actually, I wouldn't say that is the case for all FEA (finite element analysis) programs. Some software applications do allow you to set units prior to processing. But in any case - always be aware of your units. Remember what happened to that Mars rover???!!!
