    MAterial Properties

    Dear Dr. Bergstorm :

I am doing my FYP on rubber material, from the download section i had download the experimental data for NR (55ph CB) for analysis purpose. Currently i doing some calculation for material properties in my FE software as i not using Abaqus. As i know you did state the material parameters but could you please specify in detail. Like example:

    1) mooney-rivlin modal material parameter (1.176,3.009e3,0.085) does that mean C1, C2....

2)ogden modal material parameter (0.719,1.329,0.01,0.414,0.494,0.01,0.028,7.659,0.0 1) does that mean
    μ1,μ2,μ3,α1,α2,α3...

I need to know all this in order to do some comparison and thanks for your help!

    best regards,
    sue

Good questions. Eventually will add that information to that section of the web site. Note that I used my own parameter extraction software and implementation of the different models. As a result, some of the parameters are "non-standard".

Here are brief discussion about the parameters:

    (1) The Mooney Rivlin parameters are: "mu", "kappa", "s"

    (2) the Ogden parameters are: "mu0", "alpha0", "D0", "mu1", "alpha1", "D1", "mu2", "alpha2", "D2"

    Hi Dr. Bergstorm :

Your help is greatly appreaciated, with this at least i can do some comparison now. Thank you!
