I'm writing a progressive damage and failure UMAT for Abaqus/Standard v6.10 and Intel Fortran Compiler 12.0 on Windows 7. This is my first UMAT. The command "abaqus verify -user_std" says everything looks good, although the Fortran Compiler is newer. When I compile with command "abaqus make library=umat.for" it completes the compilation without issue. When I then submit a simple one-element job with a simple traction load on a C3D8 element, however, I get System Error Code 144. I've buried an OPEN and WRITE sequence as the first commands within the code, and neither is performed before the Abort.
Anyone have any thoughts on where this error may be originating? Many thanks.
