Assigning periodic load and energy

Hi guys,

In a project I am involved, I have to perform a failure/fatigue analsys in ABAQUS. So I have a question and need your help:

In my assignment, I have to give constant pressure and energy on a component. But, both pressure and energy flactuate periodically.

Does someone know how to set periodic load and energy?

And the last question, which method of solver should I pick ?

You can apply the load/displacement using an amplitude definition with a sinusoidal time history.

What about giving energy or temperature? It doesn't have to be periodic. I just wonder how to give some kind of energy to the system or a particular surface of the system while periodic load is set?

Well, in fact, the component that I deal with operates with other components in the system. However, for simplicity, I analyse the part solely, taking the effects from different parts into my analyse. Because of this, I try to simulate the situation according to this case.

In this case, the component gets hot due to the friction (or something) which is applied periodically. So, I need to give heat energy on a surface. But it doesn't have to be periodically.

By the way, the component I am trying to simulate is a flywheel.
