    Anisotropic viscoelasticity

    Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to introduce anistropic (or orthotrpic) behaviour to a time-domain viscoelastic material in ABAQUS 6.10. I know it might be possible doing it through UMAT, but unfortunately I am not so experienced in that sence.
    I would appreciate your help

I believe you can combine an anisotropic hyperelastic model with linear viscoelasticity in Abaqus.

It can also be done, of course, using the PolyUMod library.

    Thanks Jorgen for your reply,

I couldn't find any anisotropic option for hyperelasiticty, does it mean that I have to edit the input file for doing it?
Does the trial version of PolyUMod library support these type of materials, or I need to buy the real version to be able to use it?

I have used the Abaqus built-in anisotropic hyperelastic models with the built-in linear viscoelastic model, so I am not sure that combination works. I suspect it will, but you will need to read the manuals to find out. I know that combination works, for example, in ANSYS.
You will very likely need to manually edit the inp-file to make it work.

Also, the PolyUMod library supports these features, and you can use the trial version to check it out.

    Thanks,
