Problem with Field Variable in Abaqus

Hi,

I have problem with using field variable in Abaqus. I was Abaqus/CAE to model my problem, but when I add field variable option in Input file, I got this error:

in keyword *FIELD, file "Job-21.inp", line 14857: Unknown assembly node set PART-1-2

in keyword *FIELD, file "Job-21.inp", line 14887: Unknown assembly node set PART-1-2

A value has been specified on node set assembly_part-1-2. This node set is not active in the model

A value has been specified on node set assembly_part-1-2. This node set is not active in the model

Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error.


Please help me.

It looks like your problem is not related to field variables, but unknown part definitions.

Most likely you aren't correctly defining your node set in the *field lines. Depending on where you are using the *field key. For example if you create a set called 'set1' on a part instance called 'part1' you may need to include something like 'assembly.part1.set1' as the set name in the input file with *field.
