How can I use the UMAT subroutine in ABAQUS CAE

Hi every one..

My name Jirayut Suebsuk.
I have developed the critical state plasticity model for cemented clay and implemented it into the UMAT.

For Abaqus text mode I run the job by

>>abaqus j=xx inp=xx.inp user=umat.for

I think it is not convenient for working with the result.

If I want to use the UMAT in CAE mode, where is the location for umat.for?
I locate it in the same directory as inp file but it is not worked.

It is better to compile your .for file by abaqus make library=umat.for. It helps you to make sure which there is no problem with your code.
Then when you want to make a job for model you can find subroutine file upload place in General tab.

where is this upload place that you mentioned. I have compiled my umat file and every thing is ok. but I can not find the place that I should upload it inside the cae.?

hi Ali
go to JOB module and create a new job. then you go to job manager and Edit your job. on the seond Tab there is a place for you to browse and add your subroutine,
hope it could solve the problem.
