Apply compressive load in [110] direction

    Hi everybody

I am trying to apply compressive load along [110] direction in a single crystal. I created a datum plane along that direction and then tried to apply load but it is not working. Is there anyway I can do it in cae file or should I try to do that in inp file? Any suggestion will be really helpful.

    Thanks

It sounds like you are doing it right. Not sure what went wrong

    Thank you Dr.Jorgen.

Is there anyway I can create surface on the newly created datum plane? I am trying to apply distributed load. I think to do that I have to create surface. Now since it is only single crystal and has orphan mesh, if I try to create a surface on [110] plane it has 'you do not have geometry'. I am trying to appy load on the nodes along that direction but I guess I do not know how to apply distributed load on the node. Is it possible at all? Could you please help?
