    Rigid plastic formulation

    Hello,

I want to simulate pressing of glue / adhesive.
I am using a ostwald de waale non newtonian flow model and
using rigid plastic formulation to model it.

I am able to compress it . but when i raise the viscosity, then
convergence is difficult to obtain. I have read that convergence is
a issue with Rigid plastic formulation.

Can anyone list the some precautions that i need to take to obtain convegence.
I also use contacts which is also complecating the model.

I agree, that rigid plastic can cause stability issues.

If you cannot switch material model, then you might still be able to improve the convergence by reducing the time increment size.
