fracture of beam element in modeling of cnt

    Hi

Im trying to model a CNT using beam elements. for modeling of fracture of CNT I need to remove each beam element that reaches to an special amount of strain. It means after that strain the load that the element carries should become zero.
in my model the behaviour of each beam element is nonlinear elastic and I used *axial ... .

thank you in advance for your kind help.

What do you mean by "CNT"?

You did not ask a question, but I assume you are looking for an answer to "How?"...

I recommend that you use Abaqus/Explicit, which can delete elements once a critical condition has been reached.

There is unfortunately not any way to remove an element during an Abaqus/Standard analysis
