hi guys i want to analyse semi rigid PVC foams (DIVINYCELL H). can anybody tell me how this could be done in ansys.
I am not familiar with that particular foam. A simple, but not necessary accurate approach, is to either use a Mooney-Rivlin model or a Metal plasticity model to represent the material. I don't know enough about your material to be more specific.
Can you provide some experimental data (stress-strain plots)?

i have attatched the technical data of divinycell-H core material with this.
i will explain my problem statement below:
i want to anlayse a sandwich structure consisting of the following materials
1. DIVINYCELL-H at the core
2. GRP material as the face material on both sides
3. between these two matrials will be a layer of glass fiber bidirectional (0/90) 1200 gsm for which i have the properties
4. epoxy resin as adhesive.
should the modelling be done in the same way as we do for other cmposite models or is it different for polymers. You said that mooney rivlin model could be used why do u go for it and why not elastic and then specify the E and poisson value.
i found that mooney rivlin model is used for materials having elasticity like rubber. but my material does not behave in such a way.
hello , dear
I Want modeling of sandwich composite (0/90/0/90/core/90/0/90/0) panel in ANSYS ,
the sandwich composite is thick (15 cm) and face material properties is Ex=128Gpa,Ey=11Gpa,Vxy=0.25,Gxy=4.48Gpa,Gyz=1.53Gp a and core properties is Ex=103.63Mpa,Vxy=.32,Gxy=50Mpa
1.help me to input of material mode in ANSYS .
2.what element must be select ?
3.and help me to modeling of stacking sequence of face layer and core .
