dear Jorgen , Hi, I would like to check the constraint effect on the defromation of a hydrogel filler (circle) embeded in another hydrogel matrix (rectangular block) modelled in 2D at the first instance. The estimated elastic modulus is around 4kPa and 5kPa. The boundary condition is that the bottom of the block was fixed at U2, right edge of the block was fixed at U1. The displacement (U1=10, i.e.10% strain) was applied on the left edge of the block. Where the filler is very close to the bottom. It does not work in ABAQUS/standard. The error message is that there is too many increments. The mesh quality is actually good. Although the simulation complete successfully in ABAQUS / explicit, but the result does not look correct. The softer filler (circle) does not deform at all. BUT It works well fro much stiffer materials. The input desity is 1100. I am eager to your kindest help ! Great thanks !!!! Vicky
