• MCalibration Movie Demo

I created a short movie that demonstrates the MCalibration software. If you ever need to calibrate a material model for use with Abaqus, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA, then you should check out MCalibration. This software can calibrate all user-material models in the PolyUMod library, and also all built-in material models in Abaqus.

The MCalibration software is part of the PolyUMod library of material model, and can also be provided as a stand-alone application. Send me a private message if you are interested in obtaining a trial license for the software.

Note, be sure to activate the HD setting when watching the movie.

      Dear Dr. Bergstrom,

If I have both uniaxial tensile and stress-relaxation data for a polymer, and I select say TNM as constitutive model, I assume I would have to do 2 separate calibrations using MCalibration. The problem with that is however, that both calibrations yield different optimized values of the parameters. But that's not how it should be. I mean isn't it that the same set of parameters should give uniaxial and relaxation predictions.

Please let me know where I am wrong.

      Thanks,
      Raji

In that case you should calibrate the material model to both experimental data sets at the same time.
That is easy to do using MCalibration. Just define one Load Case for each experiment, and then run the material model calibration on both data sets.
