View Full Version : Steady-state transport analysis

Hi Jorgen,

I have a question about the modeling of filled rubbers in Abaqus. The Bergstrom-Boyce model gives me much better results than the visco-elastic model in Abaqus Standard. However I also want to do some simulations with the Steady-state transport analysis option. In this case the BB-model cannot be used (it runs, but the obtained solution is definitely not a steady-state solution). Is there a way to work around this or do I have to use the visco-elastic model for this particular situation?

Thanks in advance,
René

Hi René,

That is a good question. In my work I typically run the full transient analysis - and the Bergstrom-Boyce (BB) model works very well in this case. A steady-state analysis is different and I am not sure if the BB model works out-of-the-box for that case. Can you send an exemplar Abaqus input file that you are using that illustrates the problem that you are describing?

Hi Jorgen,

Sorry for the delay, I'll send some example input-files (hopefully) next week or so. First I have to finish some other work.
