Hi All,

I was looking at some test data (uniaxial tension) and noted significant differences within the same compound (same batch production).

It turned out that after being extruded this compound presents a " preferential" direction, which was never addressed in our analyses.

Is anybody aware of any hyperelastic model capable of coping with this?

Max strains are in the order of 150%, strain rate and viscous effects could be negliged at this stage.

Thank you.

All the best

What type of material are you working with?

Yes, there are anisotropic hyperelastic models that will likely work very well in your case. One example is the Bischhoff et al anisotropic eight-chain model [Transactions of the ASME, vol. 69, 570-579, 2002]. There are also a good discussion on this topic in Holzapfel's book.

Hello there,

the material is a neoprene rubber.

Thank you for the useful source.
