ABAQUS - material models

hi,

i have to do some FE experiment concerning polymer connection (only in tension) could You recommend me any material model (simple & advanced) applied in ABAQUS ?

Without more information it is difficult to provide specific advice. The simplest model to use is linear elasticity, which advanced model to use will depend on the material, temperature, loading conditions, etc.

I dispose some experimental results,

- nolimit compression
- limit compression
- tension
- shear

it should be enough to simulate strength of poly connection (tension), thaks for advice linear-elastic will be sufficent for this job.

if You have some experience in failure analysis of polymer, please tell me with what MATERIAL MODEL.

Vass,

It sounds like you have a good set of experimental data. There are many alternative model that potentially could be used to predict the deformation and failure behavior of your material.

What model is most approapriate will depend on the type of material, the temperature, the loading magnitude, and the experimentally observed failure mode.
