Hi guys,

I am dealing with biomechanics and FE modelling some parts of body. I use only Ansys for I just know that program and I have never used Abaqus in my life.

For one of my model I have to use viscoelastic parameters. In Ansys, for my type of material, I must define Prony series parameter values. I can either define shear moduli and relaxation time constant in shear response or bulk moduli with relaxation time constant in volumetric response.

I saw some values of Prony series used for a basicly same type of tissue in an article but they did the model in Abaqus. I want to use their values however I don't know if I can use directly. I mean I don't know if there is such a distinction like volumetric - shear response of prony series like in Ansys or in Abaqus no such differentiation is done and one modul containing both effects of moduli can be used?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Can

ABAQUS defines the viscoelastic properties also using a Prony series for the shear and the volumetric response. It should therefore be possible to convert the ABAQUS parameters to ANSYS format.

I hope, I can explain.I study viscoelasik material. but I could not defined. because, analysis solve during error. viscoelastic material define add file. can you look file? I know english enough. :) good bye

Dear, glad to meet you, I study viscoelastic materials too, I want to ask you some questions as following:

viscoelastic parameter
please tell me what is the meaning of the following viscoelastic parameter, thank is fine!
In abaqus,do following this:creat materials ------select viscoelastic as material behaviors-----viscoelastic domain:time, timerony
Data: g_i prony, k_i prony,tan_i prony (the parameters here are my drouble)
