Hi,
my name is Saša and I am a design engineer. I am trying to do a simple 2D FEM analysis (Ansys Workbench) of the gasket beeing compressed between two rigid bodies. The material data for NBR I have, is derived from Tensile Rivlin test. I have measured the force which is needed to compress the gasket for (5, 10, 20, 30 %) and now I am comparing it with FEA (Mooney Rivlin model) results. The FEA calculated force is more than 3 times bigger.
It is maybe because the the material data is obtained from tensile test and must be with compression? How should I proceed?
Thank in in advance,
Saša
