Hi, I have a clarification and hope some one will clear my doubt. This is related to visco-elastic modeling (small strain) using ABAQUS
Let me explain my doubt.
Elastic part
E=50MPa and nu=0.45
Viscous part
Shear_gama_1=0.75, Bulk_gama_1=0.0, Tau
Here comes my doubt, I carry out a relaxation test (I reach the desired level of strain in 0.01 sec)
For Tau=10.0E6 sec, intuitively if I calculate the Elastic modulus (Erelax) I should get a value equal to the input Elastic modulus, that is
Erelax~50MPa
But ABAQUS give me a value which is much higher
and similarly
For Tau=10E-6sec, intuitively I should get a value
Erelax~E*(1-Shear_gama_1). But ABAQUS gives me a value of 50 MPa for this case.

Should'nt the bounds of the relaxation moduli be between the Elastic limit and E*(1-Shear_gama_1).
Could some one clarify this for me, I'm not sure where my logic is taking a hit.
Thanks

I have one idea. You can specify the hyperelastic response of the viscoelastic behavior either as the long-term response, or as the instantaneous response. Perhaps you mixed up the two in your analysis.

Thanks Dr. Jorgen, that seems to be the mistake I made. The modulus was set at long-term rather than instantaneous. Hence I was getting this problem.
