This might be old news to some, but I just learned that the next version of Abaqus (v6.10), which will be released next year, will for the first time not support 32-bit Linux. 32-bit Windows is still supported but 32-bit Linux is not. I still use Linux on my laptop from time to time, and I currently prefer to use Linux over Windows for various reasons. So if you have the same preferences as me, then you need to either switch to Windows or get a 64-bit laptop. Which kind of bugs me.

I am curious to hear if there are any other Abaqus users out there that use Abaqus on a 32-bit Linux computer. Or am I the only Linux laptop enthusiast...

Thanks for the information Jorgen. Interesting that you find out more information about Abaqus here, than through Simulia. :)

Keep up the good work.

Jorgen:

It is dispointed to hear this news, I use ABAQUS on many platfrom, we have 64-bit linux version on HPC, I have Abaqus 32-bit Windows version on my office computer and 32-bit linux verion on my home computer. If they are not going to support the 32-bit linux version, I think I have to use it on Windows.
