Hello,

I use a hyperelastic material in a bushing calculation and recognize some strange thing:

If I check the max principal strains (LE, Abaqus) than the maximum is in element #1 (it lays on the free surface of the part): 44%
The max principal stress is in this element approximately 5.5 MPa, but this is not the maximum. The maximum is in element #200, which lays on the inner surface of the part, which is vulcanised to the inner sleeve (only the rubber is modelled, this surface is fixed by MPC). The value is 6.6 MPa
And the strange thing: The max principal strain is much less at this element #2: 21%.

How can it be? Could somebody help me?
Thanks in advance

That sounds unusual. Typically they are located at the same place.

It might be related to the multiaxial nature of the stress and strain distributions in your particular case.
