Dear Experts,

Iam trying to model the composite with isotropic viscoelastic NBR layer in MSc marc software.
I have entered the propeties of NBR layer
E=32.1 N/mm2
v =0.48
density 1.85e-9
and viscolelastic properties by WLF equation

referece temperature 120c

C1= 6.6
c2 = 350

But i didnt find the damping effect which is my main aim to get .
i think my viscoeleatic propeties or not correct.

and please educate me regarding this and provide me proeperties if any body have . i will be thanks full .

First, to me, your Poisson's ratio looks low, and the density too high.
Those are only small issues hower.

I suspect that the reason you did not get the proper damping effect is that you did not use an accurate Prony series representation, or your material is not linear viscoelastic in the strain range you are interested in. How did you get the Prony series?

hello jorgen

Thanks for your reply. i want to tell u that i m useing MSC marc software. and i collect this data from the literature. because i dnt have time dependent shear moduli or bulk constant so i try to model this with WLF constant.
if you have any experimental viscoelastic properties of NBR. please give me i want that .

Thanks

You can find NBR data on this page (http://polymerfem.com/index.php?pageid=mat_mod&material=1).

Best of luck,
Jorgen
