Hello;
To study the vibration of a sandwich plate I evaluate the complex shear modulus with the GHM method.
Can you tell me how I can enter the complex shear modulus in ABAQUS:
Gv := 0.142*((w/(2*Pi))^0.494)*(1+1.46*I)*1e6
(I^2=-1 , w =2*Pi*f , f: frequency)
Greetings
You should be able to discretize your equation and then normalize it to Abaqus format, and then just enter the viscoelastic coefficients into Abaqus CAE.

thank you for reply Doc Jorgen ;
If I understand correctly, I replace f in a certain number of points: (f0, f1, f2, ..., fn)
*VISCOELASTIC, FREQUENCY= TABULAR
Imaginary part, real part, f0
Imaginary part, real part, f1
...
...
Imaginary part, real part, fn
Doc Jorgen,
I have a doubt similar to chlif_med. Actually this is the first time I write in this forum, so let me add something...my models are related to asphalt materials, and I assume them linear viscoelastic (and not visco-elasto-plastic) in I'm in certain conditions of temperature and load frequency. Anyway, I collected in laboratory dynamic complex moduli (the reciprocal of creep compliance values) for my materials and I would like to use those data directly in Abaqus. Well, I'm going to calculate the best Prony series parameters which can fit my values and then insert them into AbaqusCae. But in that way, I would have followed the generalized Voigt model instead of the generalized Maxwell one. Is it possible to do it? But first of all, am I doing right?!
Thanks a lot
Vale.
Doc jorgen:
I have a doubt similar to chlif_med.Now i am doing a dynamic analysis of a sandwich structure in ABAQUS,which is consist of viscoelastic (ER)
material and elastic ones. I want to input viscoelastic material parameters by means of Frequency=formula.But I have only formula of shear
modulus(including storage modulus and loss modulus expressed in frequency domain) about the material,Real(G)=G',Loss factor=G'',(G=G'+iG'').
So how can i get the paraments required by Frequency=Formula?
Thank you and waiting for your answer!
