Hi everybody,

I´m new here and very new with thermoplastics.
I´d like to know, how can I represent the material PA 6.6 in abaqus.
I need to perform a analisys with a monotonic load, and my target is the stress and strain in my components.

The material datas are:

E = 5800
Stress at Break = 115
Strain at break = 6%
poisson = 0.35

Can I write this material like I write steel in Abaqus?

*Plastic
5800.0, 0.35
*Elastic
110.0, 0.0
115.0, 0.06

If not, how can I do?

Thanks in Advanced.

Yes, you can use a metal plasticity model to represent the behavior of PA.

Note, however, metal plasticity can be inaccurate for thermoplastic materials. There are other more accurate material that can be used, but a more accurate model will require more experimental data and a suitable user-material model such as the Three-Network Model (http://polymerfem.com/index.php?pageid=umats) (TNM).
